- About This Product
It is time to say goodbye: This version of Elastic Cloud Enterprise has reached end-of-life (EOL) and is no longer supported.
The documentation for this version is no longer being maintained. If you are running this version, we strongly advise you to upgrade. For the latest information, see the current release documentation.
Add Plugins
editAdd Plugins
editPlugins extend the core functionality of Elasticsearch. Elastic Cloud Enterprise makes it easy to add plugins to your cluster by providing a number of plugins that work with your version of Elasticsearch. One advantage of these plugins is that you generally don’t have to worry about upgrading plugins when upgrading to a new Elasticsearch version, unless there are breaking changes. The plugins simply are upgraded along with the rest of your cluster.
Adding plugins to an Elasticsearch cluster is as simple as selecting it from the list of available plugins, but different versions of Elasticsearch support different plugins. For Elasticsearch 2.3.5, you can add the following plugins, for example:

To add plugins when creating a new cluster, simply check the plugins you want added before you click Create Cluster.
To add plugins to an existing clusters:
- Log into the Cloud UI.
-
On the Clusters page, select the cluster where you want to add plugins and click
.
- In the Plugins section, select the plugins you want installed.
- Click Save changes.
There is no downtime when adding plugins. The cluster is updated with new nodes that have the plugins installed.
