Elastic Community Conference (Feb 26-27): Submit your proposals!

With 2020 quickly coming to a close, we’re setting our sights on opportunities for the upcoming year, and we are happy to announce the very first Elastic Community Conference (ElasticCC in short) on the 26th and 27th of February, 2021. Please help us spread the word (#ElasticCC) and submit your talk to the Call for Presenters / Papers (CfP).

What is ElasticCC about?

In short, it's a free technical conference from the community for the community. It's open to developers, practitioners, customers, and partners; we look forward to talks from you all!  While Elastic’s engineering team will contribute as well, the primary voice will be your success stories, lessons learned, and other information you feel adds value to our broader community.  We’re looking for everything from introductory level to advanced sessions — covering the full spectrum of our community.

ElasticCC is a global virtual event with a single track and multiple languages, with talks in English, Chinese, French, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. While this doesn’t cover our community’s full diversity, we hope that it gives everyone a chance to participate and learn.

When does it happen?

Virtual sessions will kick off on the afternoon of Friday, February 26th 2021 in EMEA (Europe/Middle East), and the event will move through the Americas before wrapping-up in APJ (Asia-Pacific/Japan) on February 27th. Why Friday and Saturday? We want to maximize the availability of our community members to participate, and Friday tends to be the least hectic work day for most. Also, in parts of APJ, it’s common to have events on Saturday since not everyone is permitted time off for conferences.

Want to get involved?

The most exciting part of this event will be the wide variety of talks from our diverse, global community of experts. So if you have a great story, we want to hear it. Submit your 5-minute lightning talks or full 25-minute sessions — you’ll be able to deliver them live or as a recording. 

Please send us your submissions no later than January 13th, or lock-in your session by submitting sooner and being accepted early.  We’ll fill vacant presenter spots as content submissions are approved, so don’t wait or you'll risk missing out!

Also, please feel free to forward this information to people who you would like to see present!  This event is all about our community, and we want to provide the content YOU want.

Not sure about what to present?  No worries!  We’re offering a CfP Clinic. Bring your abstracts or ideas, and we will work on them with you — any technical content around Elastic’s products is welcome. Join us:

Additionally, if you are new to public speaking (or want to add some polish), we will provide an optional Speaker Training in early February. Dates and times will be announced to accepted speakers.
